Every year the Friends work diligently with the staff at McCormick’s Creek State Park to host annual events that people have come to know and love. The Friends contribute by providing volunteers, financial assistance, and planning. Some of these events are:
- First-Day Hike and Photo Contest – January 1st
- Wildflower Weekend – March
- Spring 5k Road Race – April
- Arts, Blues, and BBQ Festival – September
- Fall Trail Run to the Creek 10k/5k – September
- Fall-O-Ween – October
Spring 5K and Fall Trail 10k/5k
The Friends host two running/walking races each year:
-Spring 5k Road Race
-Fall 5k/10k Run to the Creek trail run
These races are very popular and generate the majority of the Friends funding for the year.
Volunteers are always needed to help with both races!
